The American Cancer Society of Jackson - Relay for Life 

May 2, 2014 ~ Jackson, Alabama ~ The American Cancer Society Relay for Life movement signifies hope and the common goal to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people we love. Capstone’s Jackson area bankers joined together to honor survivors, remember those lost, and raise money for the fight against cancer.  They sold luminaries, sky lanterns and had a chicken salad sandwich fundraiser to collect over $1600 for the event. Capstone Bank Supports Junior Achievement 

June 12th, 2014 ~ Tuscaloosa, Alabama ~  Capstone Bank was honored for its continued support of Junior Achievement and their commitment to encouraging area students to build a foundation of  financial security and career accomplishment that will carry them into their future. Several bankers at Capstone volunteered to teach classes at area schools giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to acquire their economic success, plan their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.

The American Cancer Society of Tuscaloosa - Relay for Life  

May 9th, 2014 ~ Tuscaloosa, Alabama ~ The American Cancer Society Relay for Life movement signifies hope and the common goal to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people we love.  Capstone's Tuscaloosa area bankers joined together for Relay for Life - Tuscaloosa County, to honor survivors, remember those we have lost, and raise money for the fight against cancer.  The hard work and fundraising effort of Capstone’s Relay for Life team was recognized at the annual walk. The team received the following awards:     1st Place – Top Fundraising Team @ $11,649.00,  2nd Place – Best Relay Campsite,  3rd Place – Best Relay T-Shirt Design

Capstone Bank's 5th Annual Cake Auction 

April 3th, 2014 ~ Tuscaloosa, Alabama ~ Tuscaloosa Bankers came together to raise $8,000.00 for the American Cancer Society and their Relay for Life team with the 5th Annual Cake Auction. The money raised this year was a record. Not only does Capstone Bank have some amazing bankers, but also some incredible bakers!

Jr. Achievement Annual Bowling Classic 

March 1st, 2014 ~ Tuscaloosa, Alabama ~ A group of our Tuscaloosa bankers put on their bowling shoes to chalk up a few strikes and have some fun raising over $1000 for Jr Achievement.  The money raised will support Jr Achievement’s effort to double the number of high school classes taught in 2014.  Last year they were able to reach 6,597 students in 315 classrooms across Tuscaloosa City and County Schools.  (Below from left to right:  Richard Langford, Brent Tucker, Shauna Rodgers, David Sebren, Blake Burden, Anna Kniphfer, Desiree Beck, Sloan Patrick.)

American Heart Association - West Alabama Heart Walk 

February 15th, 2014 ~ Tuscaloosa, Alabama ~ Capstone’s Tuscaloosa area bankers support the American Heart Association with branch fundraising campaigns and participation in the 2014 West Alabama Heart Walk. Capstone Bank contributed $3600 to the American Heart Association and President/CEO Robert Kuhn also served as the 2013-2014 fundraising chairman.

2014 Exchange Club of Tuscaloosa Chili Cook Off 

February 8th, 2014 ~ Tuscaloosa, Alabama ~ Tuscaloosa Bankers for the 5th year in a row bring home the trophy for 1st Place-People’s Choice Chili in The Great Tuscaloosa Chili Cook Off sponsored by the Exchange Club of Tuscaloosa. All the proceeds raised by ticket sales of this event help benefit the service programs of the Exchange Club in the areas of youth, Americanism, community service, and the prevention of child abuse. Capstone Bank also won 1st place in the category of Best Costume. This year’s booth theme of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation was a hit.
